This is a now page, a concept Derek Sivers introduced on his blog.

a page that tells you what this person is focused on at this point in their life. For short, we call it a “now page”.

Still living in Sydney, Australia.

Right now, I am, mostly, taking a break. At least from work. I’ve not done this before so the first thing I learned is that taking a break from one thing just leads to your time going into a lot of other things. Some of them even intentionally…

My focus now, as this page is supposed to remind me, is…

Time to hang with the kids and help them with school work and life.

Time to think about healthy eating and movement.

Time to pick up one of the books I bought and never read, or have on a long list of recommendations from people and actually read. WIP.

Time to tinker again.

To tinker with tech. I was a manager guy mostly for the last little while. But once upon a time I wrote code, and I’ve been tinkering once more. Yes this means AI, how can it not in this moment. If you want to get more specific, right now, Claude Code. This will change by next week. I also plan to delve into Spatial Computing. The intersection of that, AI and digital scarcity will be really interesting in the years to come I think. I’m tinkering with another blog about that.

To tinker in the garage. I know, I know, and EVs are the future but I still have a predilection for internal combustion persuasion. Think of them like horses. I prefer them with their pistons laying flat. German or Japanese is fine. 90s vintage might just be best. One of these (Japan, 90s, Turbo, AWD, 5-speed) has made its way into my garage somehow and is proving a very good source of things to tinker with.

Sometimes I imagine I will re-learn the piano, or pickup one of my guitars again. Still yet to happen. Are you allowed to write this on a now page?
